Who controls your data

Municipal Agriculture Office of Cortes is the personal information controller. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at reyesmarstary@gmail.com.

What we collect and why

• Your mobile number — to sign you in and to send advisories. We do not use passwords for farmer accounts.
• RSBSA enrolment details — name, birth date, address, household, farm parcels, income and government programme membership, to prepare your registration for the Municipal Agriculture Office.
• Field reports — the location, photographs and description of crop or pest problems you report, to dispatch assistance and to detect outbreaks early.
• Consultation messages — so agricultural technicians can answer you.

Sensitive information

Some details — government ID number, indigenous people membership, PWD status — are sensitive personal information under the Act. We collect these only because the official RSBSA form requires them, and only with your consent.

Automated analysis

We analyse reports weekly to spot pest and disease outbreaks. That analysis uses aggregate counts only — no names, no mobile numbers, no exact farm coordinates and no photographs ever leave our servers. Every advisory sent to you is reviewed and approved by a named MAO officer before it is broadcast.

Who we share it with

Your RSBSA details are shared with the Municipal Agriculture Office and, on endorsement, the Department of Agriculture. Your mobile number is passed to our SMS provider solely to deliver messages to you. We do not sell your data.

Your rights

You may access, correct, object to the processing of, and request erasure or blocking of your data, and you may lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. Signed-in farmers can see everything we hold under My data. You can stop advisory SMS at any time; security codes you request yourself will still be sent.

How long we keep it

Security codes are deleted within 24 hours of expiry. Photographs are kept for 3 years, reports for 5 years in anonymised form, and RSBSA records according to the government records retention schedule.
